Obama rocks my socks off! I was a big Hilary supporter, but when I watched her debate with Obama. I switched! He's really awesome and so inspiring. I like his plans for Energy Independence, Education and Health care and i like his consistency. He has consistently stuck to his plan and talked about it. And he has really tired the entire campaign to focus on the issues instead of fling mud and personal attacks. I respect that.

I agree. Obama is my candidate of choice. He has been all along, but especially since McCain chose Palin because the thought of her running our country SCARES ME! Sure she is 'likable' but that is in no way a qualification to run our country. She might be great at the lower levels of politics but she is not ready to run a country, should it come to that.

Specifically I like Obama because I agree with his stand on health care, energy independence, education, foreign policy and getting the economy back on track(taxes & spending). He has specific examples of what he is going to do with each problem, where McCain just speaks in generalities without saying what his specific plan is. They are always trying to attack Obama personally because there isn't much to argue about with his policy, and even their attacks come up short because they are all fabricated or mis-respresented to try and make him look bad, like the whole 'friends with terrorist' thing. I mean really, when you get the whole story, it just makes McCain look silly to be attacking so much on no foundation instead of sticking to the issues. Okay, that was long, sorry.

Obama is a psycho. We are all in big trouble if he is elected.

I'll be voting for McCain. I like Obama, he's a very sophisticated guy, but I'm afraid that he'll make America a socialistic society with government's hand in everything we do. That's not what I want. I also think Obama will tax our socks off! I also like Palin. Her approval rating in Alaska is awesome so she must be doing something right. McCain wants to keep America, well, America. I like that. I'm really not sure if either health care plan will work. That is so messed up...there's not going to be a magical remedy.

McCain McCain MCCAIN! Obama has not been consistent and to be honest, Palin has more executive experience than Obama. He wants to socialize health care, and frankly, that is against everything the founding fathers stood for. They believed in a small federal government and socializing health care increases the size of federal government. McCain was not my first choice (I truly believe Romney would have been able to help us get out of this economic mess better than anyone) but since he won the nomination he's really stepped up to the plate, in my opinion.
Neither side has been free of mud slinging. Not one bit. Both McCain and Obama have been very guilty of it. That's a sad (and annoying) reality. I am personally afraid of Obama and his ideas. I do agree that something needs to be done about health care, but socializing it is not the answer. We already know socialism doesn't work. Just look at Russia and China. Communism is just a higher degree of socialism. If Obama is elected, I am going to be very, very afraid about the future of our nation.
My two cents.

I think we need a new point of view after 8 years of Republican leadership. I consider myself an indpendent so it's really not about parties for me. I'm just ready to get someone new in there! Goodbye Bush, and hello Obama!

Not that I am for socialism, but 4:04's logic doesn't make sense. Just because Communism doesn't work doesn't mean that Socialism won't work either, especially since it is a much calmer form. There are actually lots of countries that Socialism works for. I'm not saying it is right for America, I am just saying that the other argument isn't logical.

I'm voting McCain/Palin 2008. I don't think we can trust Obama. DON'T BE A SHEEP DON'T VOTE O BAAAAAAAHHHHHHMAAAAAAAAAA!

I hate them both. I think McCain and Biden should run together. Not that that'd ever happen.

Actually Obama's tax plan wants to give tax cuts to about 95% of americans. I hardly think that is taxing our socks off. I also disagree that the founding fathers would be against a nationwide health care plan. I'm sorry but what else is government for, but to take care of us. I agree that they shouldn't get involved in the choices we get to make, but I think it's governments JOB to step in and make sure that our children are being educated, our exports are getting the prices they should, that we are safe. If government doesn't do it, then who will? Health Care is a major problem in this country and we need to solve it and I think a nationwide health care plan is a step in the right direction. We are actually one of the LAST countries in the world to tackle this issue. Canada, England and even Denmark have nationwide health care systems. Why don't we? Why are we lagging behind?
I know this is getting long but I also wanted to say that I know why i'm voting for Obama and it's not about all the dirty ads about McCain and how horrible he is. It's about how good Obama is and the good job that I think he will do. I'm not a sheep just voting for whoever is cool. I'm voting for the best person for the job. Why are you voting for McCain? Because that's what is cool?

To the last poster - Have you read up on those country's health care plans at all? I used to live in Canada and it's awful! Their doctors are paid less and thus are less inclined to be better at their jobs, people go to the doctor for every little thing because they can which makes for contaminated offices and LONG waits, you think you have to wait forever in America, you have NO idea.

Socialized health care freaks me out! I think something should change because what's going on now is not good, to put it lightly. But I've known a bunch of people who live in different countries with socialized health care and they don't have much good to say about it. One of my friends even lost his wife because she was in line to get surgery and died, waiting. Now, I'm sure that doesn't happen all the time but just think about the quality of care if there was socialized health care. Ever since that movie "Sicko" came out, which glorified socialized health care, people seem to think it's ALL great. Yeah, somethings wrong with our system and I don't have the answer to fix the problem but PLEASE not this!

McCain, without a doubt. He will do a better job of running our country. I think Obama seems like a good person, and I'm sure he means well, but I think he will destroy our country. P.S. I just wanted to add that McCain's mom is around 100, and still as lucid and active as can be. Have you seen her at the debates cheering her son on? I just wanted to suggest the crazy idea that there's a tiny chance that McCain won't drop dead 2 weeks into his term. Just a thought. So don't NOT vote for McCain just because you don't want Sarah Palin "running" our country. Not to mention, she's a bad-ass. She doesn't pussy-foot around the issues - she gets things done, regardless of what other people think. I wish everyone would actually research the candidates and their issues and their records rather than just regurgitate whatever they heard on the liberal news channels (most of them), or Katie Couric, or Saturday Night Live (sad that I even have to say that!). Also, I can't tell you how many people (both on T.V. and not) I have heard say that they're voting for Obama because they'd like to see a black president. Are you FREAKING kidding me??? Somebody please tell me how that's any less assinine than NOT voting for him because he's black? I wish that in order to vote it was a requirement to pass a test about the candidates and their political stances. I hate to think of how many people are voting for Obama because of his color, because Paris Hilton is voting for him, because he seems like such a nice family man, because he's charismatic, or any other equally stupid reason. The only reason I'm excited that Obama will (according to the most recent polls) win is so that in 4 years all the Democrats won't be able to say that our country is screwed up because of a Republican - they'll have themselves to blame for voting in Obama. Okay, before I end my rant, I just want to encourage anyone who is somewhat on the fence to do your research, and forget about age, race, political party, & Hollywood, and vote for the candidate who's views you agree with the most, even if you aren't 100% enamored with either of them. VOTE!

I just want to know what it is exactly McCain is going to do if he's elected. Because i've never heard any real plans and none of you guys mention them. But every one knows exactly what Obama has planned. I wonder which one of these men would be better to run our country?

This cracks me up. I am not trying to be mean here, I promise. Do all of you Obama supporters REALLY believe that just because there is a "plan" that means we will get that outcome? Do you not realize how our government works? Presidential candidates cannot make promises like the ones Obama has made. McCain KNOWS this! He lays out plans that could work, but he KNOWS how our government truly works. It is called experience. Do you really think that Obama won't raise taxes? Really? When he gets in office and realizes what a MESS our country is in, he will have NO choice.
Don't even get me started on health care. Just think, if it sounds too good to be true...IT IS! Obama's "PLAN" will NEVER work. Never. I am just trying to have faith that our Senate will be able to keep Obama's "plan" OUT! Why don't people look at HISTORY~ Look at the way each candidate has voted in the PAST. Look at what they have supported in the PAST. Don't base your decision off of political Promises! PUH-LEASE! They will pomise you anything to get your vote right now. That is why McCain doesn't promise any PLAN. He understands our government and how it is run. That is why I am voting for him. He doesn't feed us full of bull-crap. The most important thing is that we all VOTE! It is great to hear all of these debates. I love it. Keep it up.

Obama/Biden 2008! All the way!!!

I will definitely be voting for McCain. Not that I think he a stellar option, but I think he is the better of the two.

I think it's horrible that Obama wants to tax anyone who makes over $250,000 a year. Let's just keep handing out money to people who won't improve their lives, and punish those who put themselves through school, and work extremely hard to make a great living. Why should I be punished for working so hard?? It's ridiculous!

I also strongly disagree with third term abortions. Any candidate who supports that will NEVER get my vote. Some issues are more important than others. I am all about plans for Energy Independence too, but when things like this come with the package, NO WAY!

Amen to 7:23.
I am not thrilled with either candidate- but I think we should also all remember that the Senate/Congress races have the potential to effect our day to day lives more than the man sitting in the Oval Office.
Checks & balances- a not-perfect, but ideal set-up for our country that has been in place since the beginning.
I am still undecided. I think Obama is a scmoozer, knows how to talk the talk, but really- he doesn't have any more experience than Palin- but some great books....or so CNN says. McCain has ran a very negative campaign- which is repulsive.
Maybe Biden & Palin can run together as the 3rd party ticket? Kidding.
Really though- we all need to educate ourselves on our local & state govt's. There, we each really can make a difference.
